About the player
Andrej Đokanović made his debut for the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior side on 6 June 2021 in a friendly against Denmark. It came in the same season in which he was named Young Player of the Season in the Bosnian Premier League. He had two senior caps in total.
The national team was the end of a long progression. He played for Bosnia and Herzegovina at U17, U19 and U21 levels, and in November 2019 he scored for the U19s against England.
Most of his early career was spent at FK Sarajevo, where he made his senior debut in May 2019. The club won the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2018–19 and 2019–20, and the Bosnian Cup in 2018–19 and 2020–21. He scored twice in his four seasons there.
In February 2023 he moved to Turkey. MKE Ankaragücü signed him for a reported €0.8 million on a contract running until 2027, and he played in the Süper Lig. He was later loaned to Manisa FK in the TFF First League and scored twice for them.
His next move was to Ümraniyespor. He joined on loan, and in July 2025 the club made the deal permanent on a free transfer. He has made 17 league appearances for them.
