About the player
Andrey Kitela grew up playing in Stryi before moving into the Karpaty Lviv academy in 2015.
He made his Ukrainian Premier League debut for Rukh in 2022 against Vorskla Poltava, a match the team won 1:0.
Kitela's development also carried through the youth national teams: two caps at under-16 level in 2020 and six more at under-19 level in 2022 and 2023.
He never won a senior cap for Ukraine. He settled into a squad number in the seventies rather than a conventional defender's number, coinciding with the club's Premier League campaigns through the mid-2020s.
In the summer of 2026, after four years with Rukh, Kitela moved on to LNZ Cherkasy. Transfermarkt and Bombardir.ru put the fee at around €250,000. At the point his move was reported, he had yet to make an appearance for his new club.
