Armel Junior Zohouri

Armel Junior Zohouri left Ivory Coast for Europe when OGC Nice signed him from RC Abidjan in September 2020 after a season in which he had made 20 appearances and scored once for the Abidjan club.

The loan spell was modest — five appearances in his first season — but it was enough to convince Lausanne to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2021. Zohouri repaid that faith with a much heavier workload the following season, playing 24 matches for the Swiss side.

His career gathered pace after he joined FC Sheriff Tiraspol as a free agent in August 2022. Over three seasons in Moldova he became a regular at the back, making 78 appearances and scoring twice, and won the Moldovan Super Liga in 2022–23 as well as the Moldovan Cup in both 2022–23 and 2024–25. His contract expired in January 2025; he briefly returned to Sheriff the following month before leaving for good in July.

That summer he moved to Georgia, joining FC Iberia 1999 as a free agent. He quickly established himself there too, making 45 appearances and scoring once as the club won the Erovnuli Liga title in 2025. His form for Iberia 1999 has also carried over to the international stage: Zohouri has earned senior caps for Ivory Coast, having previously featured for the under-23 side, and was named in the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
