About the player
Bokangu's route to professional football ran through the amateur leagues of the Sarthe. Born in Kinshasa, he came through Mans FC, Mulsanne-Téloché and CS Sablons-Gazonfier before joining La Suze-sur-Sarthe FC, where he stayed until 2020. A move to Saumur Olympique followed, and it was there that his scoring record began to draw wider attention.
The breakthrough season came at Paris 13 Atletico, formerly FC Gobelins, which he joined as a free agent in July 2023. In 2023–2024 he finished as top scorer in National 2, Group B, with 16 goals in 24 matches.
That form earned him a free transfer to AS Nancy Lorraine in July 2024. Playing in the National, the third tier of French football, he was part of the Nancy side that won the 2024–2025 Championnat National title and secured promotion to Ligue 2. He holds dual French and Congolese nationality, and while eligible to represent DR Congo at senior level, he has not yet won a cap for the national side.
Bokangu left Nancy for EA Guingamp in September 2026, in a move reported by Foot Mercato as a free transfer, after earlier speculation had suggested a fee in the region of €100,000.
