Badredine Bouanani

Badredine Bouanani scored against Algeria in 2022 while still tied to France's youth setup — and the goal changed his international future. He switched allegiance and has since gone on to earn caps for the senior Algeria side, having previously won gold with France's under-18s at the Mediterranean Games that same year.

He came through at Lille, joining the club at the age of six and progressing through the ranks before moving into the reserve side in his final year there. A free transfer took him to OGC Nice in July 2022, where he stepped into the senior squad and was named the club's Young Player of the Season for 2022–2023, a campaign that also saw him named in The Guardian's Next Generation list.

That August, Stuttgart paid a fee reported between €15 million and €20 million to sign him. His start in Germany drew some criticism over a perceived lack of determination, though he was part of the Stuttgart squad that reached the final of the DFB-Pokal, finishing as runner-up. In September 2026, he moved to Rangers FC on loan for the season, with the Scottish club paying a loan fee.

At international level, Bouanani made his senior debut for Algeria in March 2023 and has since won five caps for the national side.
