About the player
Bohdan Melnyk played one senior match for Vorskla Poltava and then spent seven years at Kisvárda. His only Vorskla appearance came against Karpaty Lviv in the Ukrainian Premier League on 30 April 2016. He had joined the club two years earlier from BRW-VIK Volodymyr-Volynskyi. There he played 89 youth league matches and scored 20 goals between 2009 and 2014.
He moved to Hungary on a free transfer on 28 July 2017. Kisvárda finished as runners-up in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II that season and went up to the top flight. Melnyk stayed through the club's first years at that level, which included European qualifying ties and Conference League football. He made about 207 appearances and scored 15 goals in this first spell. In the 2021–22 season, Kisvárda finished second in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, and Melnyk was in the squad.
He can play as an attacking, defensive or central midfielder, and has also been used on the left wing.
On 15 June 2024 he joined MOL Vidi FC, the club formerly known as Videoton, again on a free transfer. He made 33 appearances and scored once in the 2024–25 season. In 2025 he returned to Kisvárda, and he has since added 38 appearances and one goal. Across his senior career he has played about 279 matches and scored 17 goals. His Conference League record stands at eight appearances, split between Kisvárda and Fehérvár.
For Ukraine, he scored on his only U-16 appearance in 2012 and played twice for the U-19 side in 2016.
