About the player
Carlos Vivas came through the youth ranks at Deportivo Táchira and made his senior debut for the Venezuelan club in 2018, eventually establishing himself as a regular starter and captain. Under his leadership Táchira won the Primera División title in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and Vivas was named MVP of the 2024 tournament.
In 2022 he had a spell away from home, joining Portland Timbers 2 on loan for the inaugural MLS Next Pro season. He made 22 appearances and scored once before returning to Táchira.
Vivas has also featured for Venezuela's youth sides, captaining the U-23 team through the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, where he started all five matches. His senior international debut came on 11 December 2023, in a friendly against Colombia that Venezuela lost 1–0.
In June 2025 he left Táchira for Colombian club La Equidad, a move that came with an estimated market value in the region of €850,000 to €1.5 million, though the fee itself was not disclosed. The club later underwent a rebrand to Internacional de Bogotá under new ownership.
