CJ Dos Santos

CJ dos Santos spent his teenage years in United States youth national team setups before changing his international allegiance years later. He played for the United States under-17 side at the 2017 CONCACAF championship and the 2017 U-17 World Cup, then made two appearances for the under-20 team at the 2019 U-20 World Cup. In May 2026 he switched to Cape Verde and made his senior debut in a friendly against Serbia on 31 May, keeping a clean sheet.

His club career began in Portugal, where spells with Benfica B produced only two appearances in Liga Portugal 2 between 2019 and 2022. A move to Inter Miami's system followed: two years split between the reserve side, Inter Miami II in MLS Next Pro, where he made 28 appearances, and the first team, where chances were scarce — three league games and one in the Leagues Cup. Limited minutes did not stop him sharing in the club's success: he was part of the squads that won the Leagues Cup in 2023 and the Supporters' Shield in 2024.

San Diego signed him in December 2024 for $100,000 in General Allocation Money, and his contract now runs through 2027 with a club option for 2028. He made 30 appearances in the 2025 season and recorded ten clean sheets, then added six appearances and two more clean sheets in the early stages of the 2026 campaign.
