About the player
David Berger spent nearly a decade in the same corner of Upper Austria before anyone outside it noticed him.
That return was enough to bring SV Ried in, and in the summer of 2024 the forward signed his first professional contract, running to 2026. The step up did not slow him down: across the 2024/25 season he scored three goals in 15 appearances in the 2. Liga and added six more in 11 Regionalliga Mitte matches.
That form did not translate into a settled place at Ried, and when the club brought in three loan strikers, Berger moved on. In July 2025 he joined SK Rapid Wien II. He has since been part of the squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
Berger's game is built around his physical profile: at 185 cm and right-footed, he plays through the middle as a central striker.
