Damien Durand

When Damien Durand scored a hat-trick against SC Bastia in a 4-3 win, it was not just three goals — it was his 200th appearance for Red Star FC 93. He had spent his early career working through Morangis-Chilly, CO Les Ulis and Sainte-Geneviève Sports before Red Star signed him on a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

He has scored 49 goals for the club since joining, 19 of them in Ligue 2, and he played a central role in Red Star's promotion from the Championnat National in 2024. The club extended his contract several times, most recently tying him down until 2029. In the 2021-2022 Championnat National season he was among the division's most productive creators, setting up nine goals and finishing second in the assists chart behind only Godson Kyeremeh.

The 2025-2026 Ligue 2 campaign has brought individual recognition to match the numbers. Durand was named UNFP Ligue 2 BKT Player of the Month for August 2025, and picked up the same award again in April 2026 — the month of his hat-trick against Bastia.
