About the player
Darko Hrka came through at NK Krka, where he spent three seasons before a free transfer to ND Gorica in July 2021 shaped the core of his career. Over three years at Gorica he made 88 appearances and scored twice, and the run included a final against NK Rogaška in the 2023–24 Slovenian Cup, which Gorica lost 1–1 on the night before falling 7–6 on penalties. He moved on to NK Nafta 1903 in 2024, making 32 appearances and scoring once, though the club were relegated during his time there.
Celje signed him on a free transfer in June 2025, a move recommended by manager Albert Riera following his medical. Hrka wasted little time making an impression: on 10 July 2025, in a UEFA Europa League qualifying tie against Sabah FK, he scored in the 94th minute to seal a 3–2 win. He went on to win the Slovenian Championship with Celje in the 2025–26 season.
