About the player
At Gabala he finished the 2024–25 season as the First Division's top scorer with 16 goals, a return that also brought the club the title. He backed that campaign with a hat-trick in the Azerbaijan Premier League against İmişli, scored on 31 January 2026, evidence of the finishing that had already marked him out in the second tier.
The Congolese forward, who can play through the middle or off the wing, has also been capped at senior international level. He debuted for the Republic of the Congo in 2023 in a 2026 World Cup qualifier away to Zambia, a match his side lost 4-2. Before that step up, Massoumou had represented the Congo at Under-23 level, appearing twice at the 2022 African Nations Championship.
