AS Police are currently plying their trade in the Congo Second Division, following the club's dissolution in 2013 and later reformation.
That spell among the elite produced two league titles, in 2002 and 2005, though the two triumphs came by different routes — the first earned on the pitch with a 2-1 win over Étoile du Congo in the final, the second awarded after the finalists were disqualified. A Coupe du Congo followed in 2001, again at Étoile du Congo's expense, this time 1-0.
Centre-back Luc-Arsène Diamesso passed through the club in 1994 before going on to win 36 caps for Congo and building a career in Germany, one of the clearer international threads running out of the dressing room. Midfielder Sidoine Beaullia gave the club two separate spells either side of a stint elsewhere, adding 12 caps of his own.
