Dango Aboubacar Faissal Ouattara

Ouattara arrived at Bournemouth in January 2023 with a single senior season behind him at Lorient, and the fee was £20 million, a record sale for the French club. He had made his professional debut there only in August 2021, after two years at Lorient B, following an early stint at Majestic FC in his native Burkina Faso, where he scored five goals in eleven appearances.

His time on the south coast produced 81 league appearances but only nine goals. In August 2025, Brentford paid a club-record fee for him — a fixed £37 million with add-ons that could push the total to £42.5 million — and signed him to a five-year contract with the option of a sixth.

Internationally, Ouattara has been a consistent presence for Burkina Faso since making his debut in a friendly against Mauritania in December 2021. His first goal for the national team came a month later, against Tunisia at the Africa Cup of Nations, and he has continued to score in major competitions since, including AFCON qualifiers, World Cup qualifiers and friendlies. He has earned 44 caps and scored 13 goals for his country.

Individual and team honours have so far eluded him at club level — nothing won at Lorient, Bournemouth or Brentford.
