About the player
Dalangunypole Gomis came through Évreux FC 27 before moving to the Stade Rennais academy, where he made his senior debut for the club's B team in the Championnat National 2, playing nine matches in the 2022–2023 season. In the summer of 2023 he left on a free transfer for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Signed initially with the reserves in mind, he pushed his way into the first team and made 21 league appearances plus seven in the Coupe de France that season, alongside four outings for the B side.
The performances brought a move to Belgium in August 2024, when Cercle Brugge signed him on a free transfer and handed him a four-year contract in the Pro League. The switch stalled almost immediately: a hamstring injury that November kept him out, and he never featured for Cercle Brugge's first team. In February 2026 he returned to Sochaux on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy attached, and an agreement was later reached for him to stay at the club for the following season as well.
A left-back who can also play centre-back, Gomis was called up to the France under-20 squad in May 2024 for the Maurice Revello Tournament in Toulon, where he made one appearance. Within the Sochaux academy, he was named Player of the Month.
