Đorđe Nikolić

A Serbian goalkeeper who spent six years on the books at Basel: that is the shape of Đorđe Nikolić's career to date. Between 2016 and 2022 he was contracted to the Swiss club and was part of the squad that won the 2016–17 Swiss Super League and the 2016–17 Swiss Cup, but he served mainly as a backup, and the run of games came on loan — 17 appearances at Schaffhausen in 2017, six at Thun in 2018, then 33 at Aarau across 2018–19.

He came through the youth academy at Partizan and left for Jagodina in December 2014 on a free transfer. The senior debut followed in 2015–16, a season that brought him 19 league appearances and, in June 2016, a move to Basel for around €300,000.

The years after Switzerland were spent abroad. He joined Újpest on a free transfer in September 2022 and played 29 league matches there before moving to Sivasspor in the Turkish Süper Lig in January 2024, again on a free transfer, where he made 16 league appearances. In early 2026 he signed for Čukarički as a free agent and took the number 1 shirt.

Serbia used him steadily through the youth grades, from under-16 to under-21, for 25 caps in total. The senior call came on 7 June 2021, in a friendly against Jamaica: 45 minutes, and so far his only appearance at that level.
