About the player

Erik Sabo came through the academy at Spartak Trnava before making his senior debut for the club. He marked his 34th birthday, on 19 June 2025, by scoring the winner in a 2-1 league victory over Košice.

Between his two spells at Trnava, Sabo built a career across Greece, Israel, Turkey and Cyprus. At PAOK he won the Greek Cup in 2016-17, having already made his mark in the competition with a hat-trick against Chania in December 2015 that earned him the match's MVP award. A loan at Beitar Jerusalem was converted into a permanent move in 2017, and he won the Israeli State Cup with the club the following season. A free transfer to Hapoel Be'er Sheva brought a second major honour, the Israeli Premier League title in 2018-19, before further free moves took him to Fatih Karagümrük, Çaykur Rizespor, Anorthosis Famagusta and AEZ Zakakiou.

Sabo made his Slovakia debut against Montenegro in May 2014 and has since earned 18 caps. His most notable contribution at international level came in March 2016, when he set up Miroslav Stoch's goal in a 2-2 friendly draw against Ireland.
