About the player
Edin Jakupi came through every age group at SK Rapid Wien, working his way up the youth ranks before earning a place in the Rapid Wien II squad and making his debut in the 2. Liga against Admira Wacker.
The attacking midfielder, born in Vienna, has also built a record at international youth level. He appeared for Albania's under-15s before switching allegiance to Austria, where he has since been capped for the under-15, under-16 and under-17 sides. He scored six goals for the Austria under-16 team, and he has continued to find the net for the under-17s as well.
His progress through the Rapid Wien academy has been steady rather than sudden, moving through the club's youth structure a level at a time before the step up to the second team.
