Elijah Just

Elijah Just scored three goals at the 2026 World Cup, a brace against Iran and one against Belgium. That made him New Zealand's all-time leading scorer at the tournament. By June 2026 he had won 47 caps for his country and scored 12 goals for them.

Weeks later, in July, he joined Swansea City from Motherwell. The fee was reported as about £6 million with add-ons, a club record for Swansea.

Motherwell had signed him a year earlier, in July 2025, on a two-year contract with an option for a third. He made 35 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club and scored seven goals.

His route to Britain ran through Scandinavia and Central Europe. He came through the Olè Football Academy in Wellington and joined Western Suburbs in 2015. In his senior years there he scored 26 goals in 50 appearances. A spell at Eastern Suburbs followed, with seven goals in 20 games.

In 2019 he moved to Denmark on a free transfer to FC Helsingør. Over three seasons he played 71 matches for them and scored 13 goals. In August 2022 he went to AC Horsens, for a fee reported at €100,000 that the clubs did not disclose.

The 2024–25 season took him on loan to SKN St. Pölten in Austria, where he scored six goals in 19 appearances. That came just before the move to Motherwell.
