About the player

Florian Prohart joined First Vienna FC on 31 January 2026 and was announced as captain on the day he signed. He arrived from Kapfenberger SV on a free transfer, on a contract running until 30 June 2027.

Prohart grew up in Klagenfurt and spent his early years in youth football at FC Welzenegg. Spells at SC Ebental and Rapid Wien's youth ranks followed before he went to Wolfsberger AC. There he made his senior debut on 17 December 2016, coming on in the 88th minute of a 5–0 defeat by Red Bull Salzburg. It was his only first-team appearance for the club. His goals came for the reserve side, Wolfsberger AC II, who play in the Kärntner Liga, where he scored 12.

The longest stretch of his career was at SV Lafnitz. He moved there in 2018 and stayed until 2024, making 120 appearances.

In the summer of 2024 he moved to Kapfenberger SV, where he played 32 times before leaving for Vienna.

At youth international level, Prohart won three caps for Austria's Under-18 side and scored in 2016. He has not played for the senior national team.

He is a central midfielder who is comfortable on either foot. At Vienna he now leads the side as captain.
