About the player
He captained Široki Brijeg in the 2024/2025 season. That March 2024 appearance came after a path through the club's youth ranks, which he joined at an early age having started out in the academy of Željezničar in Sarajevo.
The captaincy season was his most substantial: 29 league matches in the Bosnian Premier League, with a goal and an assist, plus four in the Bosnian Cup. That followed a first season of four league appearances and one cup match. In total he played around 34 competitive games for the club.
German clubs were reported to be interested, but on 13 June 2025 he moved to Istra 1961 for a fee of about €200,000, signing a four-year contract that runs to 30 June 2029.
At international level he has worked up through Bosnia and Herzegovina's youth sides: five matches in qualifying for the Under-17 European Championship in 2023, three in Under-19 qualifying for the 2025 edition, and seven for the Under-21s. Six of those came in qualifying for the 2027 Under-21 Euros, where he started against the Netherlands on 10 October 2025, Slovenia four days later, and Norway on 18 November. The seventh was a friendly in 2025.
He has not yet won a trophy or an individual award. At 188 cm and right-footed, he has spent the past two seasons moving from a youth-team defender to a regular starter in a foreign league.
