Finn Stam

Right-footed and standing at 188 centimetres, Finn Stam is a product of Dutch academy football, having passed through Fortuna Wormerveer and Ajax before settling at AZ Alkmaar, where he signed his first professional contract in June 2021. He did break into the AZ first team once, appearing as a substitute against Sparta Rotterdam in March 2024.

Stam was part of the AZ Alkmaar squad that won the UEFA Youth League in the 2022–23 season. Loan spells followed: first a season at FC Groningen in 2024–25, then a move to Willem II in August 2025. Across the 2025–26 season he made 27 appearances, scored once and set up two further goals, playing a key role as the club fought its way through the Eerste Divisie promotion play-offs and secured a return to the Eredivisie.

That impact was enough to convince Willem II to make the move permanent. In May 2026, the club exercised the option to buy included in his loan deal, tying Stam down until 2029. No transfer fee was disclosed, though his value at the time was estimated in the hundreds of thousands of euros rather than the millions — a modest figure that reflected a player still building his reputation at senior level after years developing away from the spotlight at Alkmaar.
