About the player
Gennadi Sikszai made his top-flight debut on 12 May 2024. Kisvárda met Mezőkövesd in the NB I that day, and the midfielder was part of the first-team picture.
The debut came straight out of the club's own academy. Sikszai came through the youth system at Kisvárda and started his professional career there, so the first-team appearance was the next step in a path he had followed at one club. He is a homegrown player in the plainest sense: his development, from the academy to the senior squad, has taken place under one badge.
The 2024/2025 season shaped how that path continued. Alongside his place in the first-team group, he played for Kisvárda II in the NB II, the Hungarian second division.
Sikszai is Hungarian and has played all of his football so far at Kisvárda. His story is still at an early stage, and it has begun with that single appearance against Mezőkövesd.
