George Earthy

George Earthy scored his first senior goal 67 seconds after coming off the bench. It came on 11 May 2024 against Luton Town, in a 3–1 West Ham win.

That debut was on 14 March 2024, as a substitute in a 5–0 UEFA Europa League Round of 16 victory over SC Freiburg. His Premier League debut followed in April. West Ham had been his club since the Under-6 age group, and he moved up to the senior squad in 2023, after a season in which the Under-18 side won both the FA Youth Cup and the Under-18 Premier League South. Earthy was a key member of that team. At the end of 2023–24, the club named him its Mark Noble Young Hammer of the Year.

Regular football meant leaving London. In August 2024 he joined Bristol City on a season-long loan, and the 2024–25 Championship season became his most productive. He made 40 appearances, though he started only 11 of them, and finished with three goals and one assist. Two of those goals came in a single match against Middlesbrough. Bristol City finished sixth and reached the play-offs, and the club voted him its Young Player of the Year.

He returned to West Ham in May 2025 and went back to Bristol City on loan in January 2026 for the rest of that season, making 11 appearances and scoring once.

In August 2026 he left West Ham permanently for Reading, signing a three-year contract until June 2029. The fee was reported as about £600,000, with a sell-on clause.

Earthy has played for England at youth level, from the Under-15s in 2019 to two caps for the Under-21s, which began in 2024.
