Hugo Félix Sequeira

Hugo Félix Sequeira grew up in the shadow of a familiar surname — his elder brother João Félix went on to become a full international striker — but he built his own path through Porto's academy before switching to Benfica in 2016, first via CB Viseu. He signed his first professional contract with Benfica in July 2020 and stayed within the club's development system for years, culminating in the 2021–22 UEFA Youth League title with Benfica's under-19 side.

His breakthrough with Benfica B came gradually. Across three seasons in Liga Portugal 2 he made 61 appearances, though goals were scarce; his first professional goal did not arrive until February 2024, against Torreense. A first-team opportunity followed only much later, when he came off the bench for Benfica's senior side in a Taça de Portugal semi-final against Tirsenense in April 2025.

That senior appearance proved to be his farewell rather than a launchpad. Weeks later, Benfica terminated his contract and he moved as a free agent to Tondela on a four-year deal, with his old club retaining half of his economic rights. At international level, Félix worked his way through Portugal's youth ranks from under-15 to under-21, and was part of the squad that won the CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship in 2019. With the under-19s he scored seven goals in 14 caps.
