About the player
A switch to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus followed, where he won the Cypriot First Division.
He returned to Peru to play for Sporting Cristal, then had a spell in Turkey with Sivasspor before coming back once more, this time to Juan Aurich, with whom he won the Peruvian Primera División. Later stops included Universitario de Deportes, where he won the Torneo Apertura three times, and FBC Melgar, where he added the Torneo de Verano to his collection. He also turned out for Cusco FC, Alianza Universidad and Deportivo Municipal before joining ADT as a free agent.
Internationally, Rengifo won 23 caps for Peru and scored six goals, including strikes against Uruguay and Argentina during qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.
Now at ADT, wearing the number 9 shirt, Rengifo renewed his contract for the 2025 campaign and has said it will be his last as a professional. Across his club career he has scored 192 goals in 588 matches.
