About the player
At Jong Vitesse he scored 12 goals in 39 appearances and won the Derde Divisie title, then moved to Jong FC Utrecht, where 46 appearances and 10 goals in the Eerste Divisie marked the most productive spell of his career so far.
A move to Grasshopper Club Zürich in January 2021 brought a Challenge League title, though his own involvement was limited to two league appearances and one in the Swiss Cup before the contract was mutually terminated. De Graafschap followed, where he made 34 league appearances and scored twice, before that deal too was cut short. A short stint at PEC Zwolle preceded his free transfer to FC Den Bosch.
Boumassaoudi's biggest moment on a pitch came far from Dutch football. Morocco went on to win that tournament. It is a rare case of a player whose name is more closely tied to a knockout goal for his country than to anything he has done for a club side — De Graafschap's goal against Sierra Leone aside.
