Ivan Perišić

Ivan Perišić scored in a World Cup final. He is the country's all-time top scorer at the tournament, with seven goals across his World Cup appearances, and sits second on Croatia's overall scoring list with 39 goals in 158 caps. The 2018 run to the final in Russia ended in silver; four years later in Qatar he added a bronze medal, and in 2023 a UEFA Nations League final brought a second silver.

His path to that level began far from Croatia's biggest clubs. Perišić started out at Sochaux in France before a loan to Belgian side KSV Roeselare, then a move to Club Brugge. Borussia Dortmund brought him into German football and a Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double, and Wolfsburg added a further domestic cup and Supercup. The bulk of his club career, though, was built at Inter Milan, where a loan spell at Bayern Munich in 2019–20 produced a Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal treble in a single season before he returned to Inter and won Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.

A free move to Tottenham Hotspur followed, then a return home to Hajduk Split, first on loan and then permanently, before he left by mutual consent. He joined PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer and, under coach Peter Bosz, won the Eredivisie title in the 2024–25 season.
