Ivan Shmakov

Ivan Shmakov's most striking mark came in October 2021, when a goal against Krasnodar helped Lokomotiv's youth team clinch the Russian Youth Football League title — the side went on to add bronze in the league standings that year. It capped a run through the Lokomotiv system that had begun with the club's youth ranks and included a spell with Russia's U17 side, which finished as runners-up in the qualifying round of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Denmark in 2018. A year later, playing for Lokomotiv's 2002-born group, he was named the best midfielder at the final tournament of the Russian Championship among sports schools, a competition his team also finished second in, losing the final to Rubin.

He stayed within Lokomotiv's structure through Lokomotiv-Kazanka, turning out in the Second League across the 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 seasons before leaving as a free agent for Rotor Volgograd in July 2022. Two years there were followed by another free move, to Sibir Novosibirsk in July 2024, a club that lists him among its own academy products despite his footballing upbringing having taken place in Moscow. In July 2026, Shmakov signed a two-year contract with Shinnik Yaroslavl.

At Shinnik he has made eight appearances in the PARI First League and one in the Russian Cup, without a goal or assist recorded in either competition so far.
