About the player
Jose-Andrei Rostas is best known so far for a solo goal in the Austria Cup against Austria Lustenau in September 2025.
He had arrived at the club's academy in September 2022 and came up through the reserve side, Kapfenberger SV II. That team plays in the Oberliga, the fifth tier of Austrian football.
His senior debut came in August 2025, also against Austria Lustenau. He came off the bench in the 71st minute. The cup goal followed within weeks.
Since then he has been used as a forward in SV Kapfenberg's 2. Liga squad. He has made about seven appearances for the senior side, and he has also played three times for the reserves, so he has not left the second team behind altogether.
International recognition came quickly too. In October 2025 Rostas received his first call-up to the Romania Under-18 national team.
He is still at the start of his senior career.
