About the player
Jonatas da Anunciação Santos moved from Feira de Santana to the Al Ain academy in 2019, having previously come through Fluminense's youth ranks, though he never made a senior appearance in Brazil before the switch to the United Arab Emirates. He played for Al Ain's U21 squad until 2022, with a season out on loan at Hatta Club in 2019–2020 along the way.
Naturalised as a UAE citizen, Jonatas earned his first senior international recognition in March 2025, called up for the World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Iran and North Korea, taking his cap tally to two by the end of that month.
