About the player
Jean-Philippe Célestin's career has been built on movement rather than a settled home. Since leaving the Toulouse academy, the Paris-born defender has played for several clubs in barely three years, running through National 2 and National 3 sides in France before a spell in Romania and now a return to National 2 with Nîmes Olympique.
He started out at FC Les Lilas before Toulouse FC took him into their academy, where he progressed through the B side and earned two senior appearances in the Coupe de France. Since then his path has run through the lower rungs of French football: FC 93 Bobigny, Chamois Niortais and their reserve team, and US Granvillaise, each stop a free transfer rather than a fee. In January 2025 he took his career abroad for the first time, joining AFC Câmpulung Muscel in Romania's Liga II, where he scored twice in nine appearances — a productive return for a defender, even in a short stay. He was back in France within the year, signing for Nîmes Olympique.
Célestin is a centre-back standing 190 centimetres tall. He also holds Haitian nationality alongside his French citizenship, though international recognition at either senior level has so far eluded him.
