About the player
João Vitor came through the youth ranks at Vitória, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, and by the start of 2023, still 18, had done enough to earn a contract extension with the club through to 2025. By August of that year he had left for Cuiabá.
At his new club, João Vitor has moved between the under-20 side, where he featured in the 2024 and 2025 youth competitions, and the first team. His appearances for Cuiabá's senior squad have come as a holding midfielder, a role in which he was named in match coverage of the club's Brazilian championship fixture against Avaí in August 2025.
