About the player
Jonny Robert do Nascimento Torres grew up in Murici, in the Brazilian state of Alagoas, and it was there, at his hometown club, that his career began. From there he moved through a string of Alagoas and regional sides — AA Coruripe, Central SC and Cruzeiro Arapiraca — before a move abroad changed the shape of his career.
In 2021 he joined Hamrun Spartans in Malta, and the switch paid off quickly. Across his first spell in Valletta he made 71 appearances and scored 17 goals, and the club won back-to-back Maltese Premier League titles in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, adding the Maltese Super Cup in 2023/24 as well.
He returned to Brazil in 2024, signing for Amazonas FC before a loan spell took him to Clube do Remo later that year. He then went back to Amazonas FC, but by the middle of 2026 he was on the move again, this time to Serbia's FK Novi Pazar, who announced his signing from Hamrun Spartans on a free transfer. Jonny himself struck an optimistic tone about the move, while acknowledging the adjustment ahead with the language and climate.
He plays as a forward, comfortable on the left wing as well as through the middle, and is right-footed. He has not featured for Brazil's senior national team.
