Kamory Doumbia

Kamory Doumbia's breakthrough came in a single evening in Ligue 1. On 20 December 2023, the midfielder scored four goals as Brest beat Lorient 4-0, and one of them was later voted Ligue 1 Goal of the Season for 2023–24. He was on loan at Stade Brestois 29 from Stade de Reims at the time, and the season he had there — 25 league appearances, six goals and five assists — turned into the platform for Brest's run to third place in Ligue 1 and a first-ever Champions League qualification for the club, sealed with wins over Rennes and Toulouse in April and May 2024.

Doumbia's path started far from Brittany. Born in Bamako, he came through FC Guidars and the JMG Academy in Mali before moving to Stade de Reims in July 2021, where he began in the reserve side in National 2 before working into the first team. In his first full season under permanent contract, 2024–25, he made 30 appearances across all competitions with three goals and nine assists.

His standout tournament was the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored twice against South Sudan in the group stage and was named Man of the Match in Mali's 1-1 draw with Tunisia, having set up the opening goal. He has continued to contribute at international level since, including a goal during qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
