Kristi Montgomery

Kristi Montgomery made his Blackburn Rovers debut off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday on 8 April 2025, in a 2–2 Championship draw. Blackburn had recalled him from a loan at Chorley that month.

He had been at the club since 2013, when he joined the academy aged nine. He came through the under-18 and under-21 sides and signed his first professional contract in June 2022. Senior football came through loans. At Marine, from August 2024 until January 2025, he made 17 National League North appearances and scored once, in a 2–0 win over Needham Market on 23 November. He then went to Chorley, where he played seven times and scored in a 4–0 win over Spennymoor Town on 29 March.

After the debut, he made 21 Championship appearances for Blackburn up to the 2025/26 season. In July 2026 he signed a long-term contract with the club.

Montgomery was born in Leeds but plays for Scotland through his mother. He won two caps for the under-16s and one for the under-20s. He made his under-21 debut in September 2025 and played five times for that side in qualifying for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship.

In September 2026 he received his first senior call-up, from new head coach Sébastien Pocognoli. He was added to the squad for the Nations League matches against Slovenia and Switzerland, replacing the injured Kenny McLean and Kieran Tierney.
