About the player
Luka Jelenić came through the Dinamo Zagreb academy and, between 2019 and 2021, was registered with the first team without ever getting a competitive senior appearance in the 1. HNL or the Croatian Cup. He was not without honours during those years, though: he won the 1. HNL and the Croatian Cup in the 2020/21 season, having already taken the junior league title in 2018/19.
The move that gave him a senior career came in the summer of 2021, when he left Dinamo on a free transfer to join Inter Zaprešić, making his competitive debut there and playing 28 matches in the 2. HNL the following season. That spell ended abruptly in July 2022, when Inter Zaprešić were dissolved because of financial problems and Jelenić found himself a free agent. He joined Varaždin, again on a free, and stayed there from 2022 to 2024 before Osijek paid a fee of €800,000 for him.
At youth international level, Jelenić has been capped by Croatia at U15, U16 and U21 level.
