About the player
The move that changed his career came in January 2016, when Tigres UANL paid Belgrano 5.5 million dollars for him. In Mexico he became a regular title winner, lifting three league championships with Tigres.
A move to Saudi Arabia followed in the summer of 2023, when he joined Al-Fateh on terms neither club disclosed.
Zelarayán's international career runs through his mother's side of the family: born and raised in Córdoba, he plays for Armenia rather than Argentina. He made his debut for the Armenian national team in October 2021 and scored his first goal for the side against Wales in June 2023, a 4-2 win in Euro 2024 qualifying.
