Lawrence Vigouroux

Leyton Orient's 2022–23 League Two title was built on Lawrence Vigouroux's goalkeeping. He kept 24 clean sheets in 45 league appearances, which won him the EFL League Two Golden Glove and a place in the PFA League Two Team of the Year.

He came to Orient in January 2020 on a free transfer and became first choice, making 143 appearances. Born in Camden, he started at Brentford, moved to the Tottenham academy in 2012 and signed his first professional contract in June 2013. He never played a senior match for Tottenham, and none for Liverpool, whom he joined in July 2014. Regular football came on loan at Hyde United, where he made 12 appearances, and then at Swindon Town.

Swindon made the move permanent in 2016 for a reported fee of about £400,000, and he was named their Player of the Season for 2016–17. A loan at Waterford in 2018 brought 19 appearances. A move to Everton de Viña del Mar in 2019 produced no games, because the tournament was cancelled.

At Tottenham he trained alongside Harry Kane, who would take around 150 extra shots at the end of a session. Vigouroux, the goalkeeper on the receiving end, would sometimes miss lunch by up to two hours.

Burnley signed him in June 2023, but he did not play a senior match there. He joined Swansea City in July 2024 and played 46 league games and two in the EFL Cup in his first season, with 14 league clean sheets. In March 2025 he kept a fourth consecutive clean sheet, the first time Swansea had done that since 2008. The club named him its Best Newcomer for 2024–25, and in October 2025 he extended his contract to 2028.

Vigouroux is a Chile international, although he is also eligible for England and Jamaica. He made his debut on 4 September 2025 in a 3–0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Brazil at the Maracanã, and started the following game, a goalless draw with Uruguay in Santiago.
