About the player
Leon Frokaj holds dual Swiss and Kosovar nationality, born in Wolhusen.
He came up through Switzerland's youth sides, playing for the U17s in 2021 and 2022 and the U18s in 2022 and 2023, before switching allegiance to represent Kosovo, where he has since earned caps for the U21 side.
He left Basel on a free transfer in July 2025 to sign a three-year deal with FC Aarau: across all competitions that season he made appearances in the Challenge League, the Swiss Cup and the promotion-relegation play-offs, and finished as the club's top scorer in the league phase.
That form earned him a four-year contract at FC St. Gallen from June 2026. Local media have noted how directly he has established himself since arriving.
