Monaco go top of Ligue 1 after edging out Lens
Paris Brunner's first-half strike and a Jonathan Gradit own goal gave Monaco a 2-1 win over Lens, moving Filipe Luis's side into first place.

About the player
Matthis Abline broke into professional football at Stade Rennais, making his debut in 2021 before loan spells took him around Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. At Le Havre in the first half of 2022 he scored six goals in 16 appearances. A longer loan at Auxerre followed, where he added two goals in 19 outings.
Nantes brought him in on loan in August 2023 with an option to buy set at €6 million. The club exercised it a year later, signing him permanently in July 2024 for a club-record fee of €12 million. Abline scored 15 Ligue 1 goals across his two seasons in yellow and green, and was named Nantes Player of the Month in February 2025.
He moved to AS Monaco in July 2026. He signed a five-year contract at the Stade Louis-II and took the number 11 shirt.
