About the player
Melvin Edgar Costa came up through Benfica's academy before moves to Belenenses, Damaiense, Sacavenense and Alverca, and it was at Santa Clara that his path took shape: he joined the club's youth setup and worked his way into the Liga Revelação side with the U23 team.
The step up to senior football came via a loan to Académica de Coimbra, where he spent the first half of 2025 in Liga 3 and made eight appearances. He returned to Santa Clara's U23 side afterwards before a fresh loan took him to Amarante, where he now wears the number 10 shirt as a left winger.
