Mijat Gaćinović

Mijat Gaćinović's first senior honour came before he had even established himself as a regular starter. In May 2014, with Vojvodina, he came on as a substitute for the final half hour as the club beat Jagodina 2–0 to lift the Serbian Cup, a modest first line on a career that soon took him abroad.

Eintracht Frankfurt signed him in 2015 for an estimated €3.75 million, and it was there that he culminated in the 2017/18 DFB-Pokal triumph. In 2020 he left for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim as part of a swap deal involving Steven Zuber. A loan to Panathinaikos in 2022 preceded a permanent move to AEK Athens the same year, a transfer worth around €1 million that left Hoffenheim holding a 30% sell-on clause.

At AEK, Gaćinović helped the club to the Greek Super League title in the 2022/23 season. Across all competitions for AEK he has made 124 appearances and scored 19 goals, with further strikes in European competition, and has also chipped in with several assists in league play.

On the international stage, Gaćinović made an immediate impact: on his senior debut for Serbia, against Georgia in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in March 2017. Earlier in his career, he was also part of the Serbia sides that won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2013 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2015.
