About the player
Maksym Marusych came up through Vorskla Poltava's academy before making his senior debut with the club, and after a brief spell at Karpaty Lviv he spent time in the Ukrainian First League with Hirnyk-Sport and Desna Chernihiv. From there his career took him abroad, first to Lithuania with Jonava, then to Latvia, where he settled longest. With RFS he won the Latvian Cup twice, before a further move to Jelgava. A stint in Kazakhstan with Kaspiy Aktau followed, then a return to Lithuania with Riteriai.
Marusych came back to Ukraine to play for Inhulets Petrove and later Veres Rivne, before joining SK Poltava on a free transfer, returning the forward to the city where his career began. He has also represented Ukraine at youth level, with a cap for the under-16s and two further appearances for the under-21 side.
