About the player
Marcello Negrón came on in the 88th minute against Ayacucho and equalised in the 90th — his first goal in professional football, and a 1-1 draw for Deportivo Coopsol.
Negrón had reached that point through Academia Deportiva Cantolao, the Lima academy where he came through the youth ranks and made his professional debut in the 2024 Liga 2 season. In March 2025 he moved to Coopsol on a free transfer. He made 18 appearances in the 2025 Liga 2 season and scored four goals, enough to finish as the club's top scorer.
Four league matches have brought no goals; three appearances in the Copa de la Liga have brought one.
He was called into the Peru under-20 squad for training microcycles in July 2023, but has yet to make a competitive appearance for any national team at any level. He has not won a team title or an individual award.
