About the player
Matvey Bardachev came through the Krasnodar football academy before moving, at 15, to Zenit's academy set-up.
The path to regular first-team football, though, ran through a loan. Sent to Ural for the 2024/25 season, he made a handful of appearances before being kept on and given a proper run in the side: 22 matches in the First League last season.
That form earned him another loan move, this time to Fakel in Voronezh until the end of the 2026/27 season, and with it came his top-flight debut — Bardachev came on against Akhmat on 10 August 2026, his first taste of the Russian Premier League.
He has also worked his way through Russia's youth international set-up, from the under-16s and under-17s through to the under-18s, before establishing himself at under-21 level, where he has scored once in a dozen appearances.
