Ousseynou Niang

Ousseynou Niang came through the Diambars academy in Senegal before stepping up to the senior team, for whom he played from 2019 to 2022. His move abroad came that March, to Latvia's FK Auda, where 15 appearances brought four goals before the year was out. A switch to Riga FC in January 2023 turned into the making of him: 33 league appearances, eight goals, and two Latvian Cup wins, in 2023 and 2024, alongside a runners-up finish in the league the following year.

That form took him to Belgium. Union Saint-Gilloise paid a fee reported between €1 million and €1.3 million for him in September 2024, a deal Riga FC described as a club record. He signed until 2028 and extended the contract by three more years in July 2025.

At youth level, Niang was a key figure for Senegal at the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, where the team finished runners-up and he was named Man of the Match in some of the tournament's biggest games. He was named in Senegal's senior squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, wearing the number 22, though a medical issue during the warm-up kept him out of the final.
