About the player
Oleksandr Kharechko's name entered the Ukrainian youth football record books on 9 March 2026, when the goalkeeper stepped up to take a penalty for Veres Rivne against LNZ in the Ukrainian National League Under-19 and scored. He was only the third goalkeeper in the competition's history to attempt one from the spot — Ivan Oliynyk and Yevhen Zborshchik had both missed theirs, in 2015 and 2019 respectively — and became the first to convert it. Before his effort, every goalkeeper goal in the league's history had come from open play.
Kharechko started out in the Karpaty Lviv youth ranks before joining the Rukh Lviv academy, where he stayed from 2021 to 2024. He moved to Veres Rivne on a free transfer, initially joining the club's youth setup before being promoted to the senior squad.
At international level, Kharechko has one cap for Ukraine's under-17 side.
