Owen Goodman

Owen Goodman found his calling in the goalmouth while still a teenager, emerging from the Crystal Palace academy. Joining the youth setup at the age of 11 or 12, he progressed through the ranks before signing his first professional contract in July 2021. Standing 193 cm tall, he played in the goal.

His development required experience, leading to a series of loans. He spent the 2023–2024 season at Colchester United, making 38 appearances. The following campaign saw him move to AFC Wimbledon, where he made 49 appearances. That period proved significant for his career. He won the EFL League Two Golden Glove and kept a clean sheet in the playoff final. He moved to Huddersfield Town for the 2025–2026 season, adding 10 more appearances to his tally.

Internationally, Goodman holds Canadian citizenship, acquired in October 2025, after representing England at youth levels for U18 and U20 sides. He earned a senior cap for Canada, recorded as an unused substitute in pre-tournament friendlies against Uzbekistan and the Republic of Ireland in June 2026. His selection in Canada’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as the third goalkeeper.

On January 15, 2026, he joined Barnsley on loan for the remainder of the 2025–26 season. His contract with Crystal Palace was extended on May 26, 2025, and is set to expire on June 30, 2026. He wears shirt number 1 for his current club.
