Roman Kerschbaum

Roman Kerschbaum grew up in the youth system at AK Akademie St. Pölten after coming through smaller clubs around Neunkirchen and Kottingbrunn, at 1. FC Nürnberg II. From there he moved through SV Grödig, FC Wacker Innsbruck and FC Admira Wacker Mödling, each time on a free transfer.

He joined Rapid Wien in 2022, again without a transfer fee changing hands, and settled into a squad role at one of Austria's most watched clubs. His European football with Rapid has been limited, with a single appearance in the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2024/25 season standing as his continental record so far.

At youth international level, Kerschbaum represented Austria at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level between 2011 and 2015.

In 2026 he left Rapid on a free transfer for SV Gloggnitz, signing until the summer of 2027, but that spell did not run its course: he terminated the contract early and returned to Rapid Wien, this time off the pitch as a playing assistant coach with Rapid Wien II, a move that ties him to the same club where he had spent his most recent senior years, now in a dual role that blends still playing with coaching duties.
